River CaFE pastry kitchen
Due to the expansion of the patisserie side of the business in 2016 the River Café decided to create a new separate kitchen dedicated specifically to the production of their renowned cakes and ice creams.
As spaces were becoming available within the Thames Wharf development part of the same compound as the Café, it was decided to refurbish what was originally a 30m2. ‘L’ shaped storage room into the Pastry Kitchen.
The space was designed to provide a work space for the three main activities: Cold preparation, Hot preparation, and wash-up area.
This was a quick programme contract that took 3 months from design concept to finished fit out. The building contractor used was the same as the original refurbishment of the main restaurant, allowing for continuity in the design expectations and results.
