When acquired by our clients, this 6 bedroom, North London townhouse required extensive refurbishment and modernisation. The client’s brief was clear-they wanted a contemporary open living space within this previously untouched listed building.
The new designs created by SFA remodelled the entire property and extended into the rear garden. The extension is clearly defined from the existing property with a roof-light which bends to become the rear wall of the extension. A new basement level for utility, plant, WC and wine store allows the lower ground to exist as a clear open plan kitchen, living and dining room.
The sleek kitchen and finishes on the lower ground and basement floors are purely contemporary installations in contrast with the traditional details of the upper floors.
The upper floors were reworked in respect of their traditional layouts but adapted to incorporate en suite bathrooms and dressing rooms throughout.
