The project is to integrate back into the building a former ground floor apartment into the main house, providing greater guest accommodation and entertaining space for the Rogers Family. The property is grade 2 listed and enjoys a prominent location in Chelsea, overlooking the Royal Hospital.
To add further to the complications of working this brief seamlessly into a well known and publicised building, we are to add a lift structure which would sit partly in, and out of the building enclosure.
Whilst this project might not mirror the size and scale of the larger commercial buildings, the complexity of detail and statutory negotiations is none the less onerous, and has exercised the ability to successfully integrate a contemporary detail within the context of the traditional fabric of the building.
