Located in the heart of the Wimbledon conservation area, this mid Victorian property had a number of additions over the years, some more successful than others, but the overall feel of the property was always homely. The brief was to create a new unifying space which brought together the activities of the kitchen, dining area and play spaces which were important for the clients young family.

The rear garden was not large and it was important to create a careful balance of new footprint and garden area which would work together by the nature of the ability to open the facade of the building creating a seamless transition between internal and external spaces.

To accentuate this feeling the enclosure is made almost entirely of glass. Perforated aluminium louvers are suspended between glass roof beams and are able to track the movement of the sun over the building to help control the internal environment.
