For Stuart this building became one of the most significant projects of his time spent with Richard Rogers. It presented an opportunity to deliver a building type never before seen on this size and scale in the world.

Not only did it present the physical issues of design and manufacture, but also created a need to develop in collaboration with the council at Greenwich, a method of how the building and its site was proposed to be presented and approved not only from a statutory perspective, but within the ever watchful presence of the worlds media.

‘Commissioned to mark the beginning of the new Millennium, the Millennium Dome was intended as a celebratory, iconic, non-hierarchical structure offering a vast, flexible space. Although a high-profile project in its own right, the building also formed a key element of the masterplan by RSH-P for the future development of the entire Greenwich Peninsula.
